Today, SATLANTIS had the honor of welcoming Mikel Jauregi, the Basque Government’s Minister of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability, along with Jaione Ganzarain, the Deputy Minister of Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Andoitz Korta, the Deputy Minister of Industrial Promotion, Arrate Aranbarri, the Director of Venture Capital, Iñigo Arana, Chief of Staff, and Zigor Urkiaga, the Director of Strategic Projects and Industrial Administration, to our HQ (Leioa Campus) in the Basque Country Technology Park.
The delegation was hosted by SATLANTIS’ CEO Juan Tomás Hernani, the CTO Aitor Conde, the Production and Delivery Director Javier Ojanguren and the Head of Image Processing, Iñaki Salaverria.
The new “Satlantis Factory” a strategic investment to strengthen Euskadi’s industrial and technological ecosystem, was presented.
“The best anchor to the territory is an industrial investment that will allow us to serve our current portfolio of 17 high-resolution cameras and 5 satellites. For this, we expect to reach a viability agreement with the Basque Government, the University and other investors” said Juan Tomás Hernani, CEO of SATLANTIS.
“When we advocate for more and better industry, we are referring to companies such as SATLANTIS that invest consistently in innovation, developing technology that is 100% made in the Basque Country and applied worldwide, in a sector with a promising future for Basque industry. The innovative development of companies in the Basque aerospace sector such as SATLANTIS drives major scientific advances that have a positive impact on other sectors, generates a knock-on effect in many companies in the sector, and contributes to creating a solid industrial value chain in fields such as mechanics, software and materials”, declared Mikel Jauregi, the Minister [sailburu] of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability of the Basque Government.
🗨️ “At the same time, Euskadi as a smart territory is already benefiting from the digital impact generated by permanent information about the territory. Multiple areas such as URA, HASI and SPRI are shaping a new services agenda, with a broad Public-Private vision involving Basque stakeholders. The experience of Urdaneta, in orbit since 2022, will soon be complemented by further satellites such as Horacio, Garai and the upcoming Elcano generation” added Hernani.
SATLANTIS has experienced remarkable growth, increasing revenue from €17 million to €26 million in 2024, and reaching €48 million this fiscal year—effectively tripling in just two years. Our EBITDA stands at €15 million, supported by a team of 205 talented young engineers, most at the start of their careers.
The agenda included a tour of our facilities, institutional photographs, and an open dialogue about our future growth.
This visit underscored the importance of public–private collaboration in driving growth from Euskadi to the world.
Mila esker to all attendees for sharing this day with our team!
