THE UNIVERSITY OF DEUSTO AND SATLANTIS CREATE THE “SATLANTIS-DEUSTO AULA”, A CLASSROOM TO PROMOTE TRAINING IN SPACE TECHNOLOGY

The Engineering Faculty of the University of Deusto and SATLANTIS agreed to create a University-Industry Classroom to promote training in Space Technology:  the University of Deusto will build its first university satellite in collaboration with us.

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto and SATLANTIS [space technology company] have signed a collaboration agreement to launch the SATLANTIS-DEUSTO Technology Classroom [AULA SATLANTIS-DEUSTO] a unique space for joint training and development that bridges the academic world with the real challenges of the space sector.

The classroom aims to offer students an exceptional hands-on learning experience through their direct participation in the design, development, and validation of a nanosatellite.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, a multidisciplinary team of students – guided by SATLANTIS experts – will take on key technical roles, such as mechanical design, electronic systems, and telecommunications.

According to Andoni Eguiluz, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Deusto, “this classroom represents a new way of linking university education with technological and industrial reality. Our students not only learn content, but also apply their knowledge in a real-world context, collaborating with a leading company in the aerospace sector.”

Meanwhile, Aitor Conde Rodríguez, CTO of SATLANTIS, highlighted that “through this collaboration we aim not only to train future professionals in the space field, but also to inspire a new generation committed to exploration and innovation. The space sector is experiencing unprecedented growth, and the Basque Country must play an active role in this new technological wave.”

The SATLANTIS-DEUSTO Classroom will also help strengthen key skills such as teamwork, technical decision-making in complex environments, and results-oriented thinking—all essential for preparing professionals to face today’s technological and social challenges. From SATLANTIS’s People (Human Resources) area, this initiative is being promoted as the beginning of a joint journey to develop young talent, foster collaboration between academia and industry, and consolidate an ecosystem that drives innovation and sustainable growth in the space sector.
