The University of Deusto has announced the 12th edition of the Ada Byron Award, a benchmark initiative recognizing outstanding women in science, technology, and engineering.
As part of its international expansion, the program will soon launch a Pan-African edition, supported by SATLANTIS.
This collaboration reflects SATLANTIS’ long-term commitment to advancing diversity in high-impact sectors such as space and Earth observation, while actively contributing to the development of female talent across emerging innovation ecosystems.
The new Pan-African edition is being developed in collaboration with Fundación Mujeres por África and aims to create a platform to recognize, connect, and empower leading women technologists across the continent.
This initiative is closely linked to the strong collaboration on the Space topic between SATLANTIS and the University of Deusto, including the SATLANTIS–Deusto Lab (Aula Espacio), a University-Industry Classroom to promote training in Space Technology and CubeSat projects, focused on hands-on learning and inspiring the next generation of space engineers.

With established editions in Spain and across Latin America—including Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay—the Ada Byron Award continues to consolidate its position as a global reference for recognizing women in STEM.
