In recent months, we have reached a key milestone in our growth journey with the opening of our new office in Astrabudua.
This expansion marks not only continued organizational growth but also a decisive transition toward industrial-scale space operations.
Located at Ribera de Axpe Etorbidea, 5, 3º – Astrabudua, 48950 Erandio, Bizkaia, the new facility adds 1,200 square meters to our operational footprint. Positioned in an area historically defined by shipbuilding and steel industries, the site strongly reflects our own evolution toward advanced industrialization and high-precision manufacturing.
The new facilities significantly triple the total surface area dedicated to clean room operations, featuring both ISO 8 and ISO 6 environments. The ISO 6 clean room is primarily dedicated to optical activities, while ISO 8 is used for satellite assembly, integration, and testing (AIT). In addition, a new electronics laboratory has been established to support the development of mission-critical systems, including projects such as ARRAKIHS, aimed at exploring the unknowns of dark matter in the universe.
Beyond infrastructure, the Astrabudua office represents a strategic transformation. It marks the transition from a primarily development-driven organization to a fully industrialized entity capable of scalable production in space technology.
This expansion comes at a pivotal moment. With a robust and expanding pipeline that includes five satellites already in orbit, five FLEXSAT missions currently under development in Astrabudua clean rooms, and 24 optical systems under manufacturing and delivery, the need for increased capacity and industrial efficiency has never been greater.
Looking ahead, this milestone lays the groundwork for the next major step: the Satlantis Factory. Designed to be ten times larger, it will build upon the industrial experience gained in Astrabudua and is expected to become the largest optical space technology manufacturing facility in Europe.
