Satlantis France has been awarded the Defense & Sovereignty Trophy (DÉFENSE & SOUVERAINETÉ) at the Tribune Space Forum, held at the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse on September 29, 2026.

Organized by La Tribune, the Toulouse Space Forum broght together key players from the French and European space ecosystem to discuss the strategic, industrial and technological challenges facing the sector.

The 2026 edition placed particular emphasis on European space sovereignty, defense and the future of the space industry, with Spain as the guest country.

The Defense & Sovereignty Trophy therefore highlights Satlantis France’s role in developing high-performance optical technologies in France and Europe, while contributing to the emergence of new sovereign capabilities for space-based observation.

The representatives of Satlantis France, Julien Chouillou (CEO) and Lionel Garcia (CTO) thanked La Tribune and the jury for the recognition, as well as the whole company’s teams whose work contributes to the development of new Earth-observation capabilities for strategic and defense applications.

Satlantis France stood out for the Defense & Sovereignty Award through its contribution to strengthening sovereign European space capabilities, combining advanced optical technologies with strategic industrial development in France. Its expertise in very-high-resolution Earth observation and polarimetry, including the iSIM family of optical instruments, enables the collection of detailed multispectral and polarization-based information for applications spanning environmental monitoring, defense and security.

Its 2026 strategic alliance with French company COMAT to develop and industrialize a new generation of very-high-resolution cameras with multispectral polarimetry further demonstrates its commitment to developing critical space technologies and industrial capabilities in France.
