ARMSAT_1 mission progress

ARMSAT_1 mission is progressing according to schedule and after the commissioning and calibration phases the satellite is immerse in its nominal operations.

The satellite was launched into Space on May 25, 2022, from Cape Canaveral Space Station (USA) as part of the cooperation between the Armenian state-owned Geocosmos and the Spanish company SATLANTIS.

On 18/11/2022 a joint press conference of the Minister of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia Robert Khachatryan, and SATLANTIS CEO Juan Tomás Hernani, took place in Yerevan. The RA Deputy Minister Avet Poghosyan, the Astrophysics Professor Garik Israelian and SATLANTIS ARMSAT Program Manager Javier Ojanguren Etxebarria, also took part in this important encounter.

During the press conference, SATLANTIS CEO highlighted the milestone of the opportunity for Amenia to monitor and task the satellite with their own assets: “The Mission Control Centre performs two important functions. Firstly, monitoring and control of ARMSAT_1 status and tasks and, secondly, populating and managing the mission database for its exploitation from government and other Armenian users for different vertical applications “ Hernani said.

The advanced Mission Control Centre of Yerevan represents a very important progress in ARMSAT_1 Project and a great success after a hard job, within the long-term vision of society and industry transformation.
